Neurosurgery

Our neurosurgery department offers diagnosis and treatment for a wide variety of disorders affecting the brain and spinal cord.  Our dedicated team of neurosurgeons and neurologists accept emergency patients 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  For trusted diagnosis and treatment, we have introduced advanced devices and methods including Gamma Knife and rt-PA therapy.  We have specialists in intravascular surgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery and other conventional brain surgeries.  Medical checkup is also available for detecting asymptomatic brain disease in its early stage.  We accept patients referred to our department from other hospitals for diagnosis and treatment.  We work in cooperation with other medical institutions including university hospitals for further diagnosis and treatment when necessary.

Gamma Knife radiosurgery is used to treat certain conditions including brain tumors.

Gamma Knife Team

Gamma Knife radiotherapy is a medical procedure using intense beams of gamma rays for treating lesions in the brain with pinpoint accuracy.  The Gamma Knife we introduced is the latest system called PERFEXION.  Treatment with the Gamma Knife is planned and administered by a team of specialists.  Since Gamma Knife is a noninvasive radiosurgery, patients can be back to their normal routines soon after treatment with no surgical incision.

Internal Medicine

We deal with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of adult diseases.

A team of experts covers gastroenterology, cardiology, respiratory and general medicine.

We regard rehabilitation as part of the treatment for elderly inpatients to help them perform activities of daily living.

Smoking cessation outpatient services

If you smoke, quitting smoking is the most important step you can take to improve your health.  We provide an intensive stop-smoking plan to support you.  You can receive treatment under insurance if you satisfy certain conditions.  You will also be receiving treatment outside insurance coverage depending on the consultation details.

Neurology

We treat disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including the brain, spinal cord and other neural components.  Symptoms we often manage are migraine, dizziness, muscle weakness and coordination problems.  Because different disorders can have similar symptoms, we perform a variety of procedures for identifying the cause to find the best treatment options.  We work with other specialists when necessary.

We treat patients with injury as well as with problems of the gastrointestinal tract from the esophagus to the anus.  We have experts who can diagnose, treat and manage digestive cancers.  Treatment options include chemotherapy and a minimally invasive procedure called laparoscopic surgery depending on your condition.

We also provide palliative care that focuses on reducing symptoms and improving your quality of life.

Orthopedics

In an aging society, more and more people have osteoporosis and older patients have higher risk of breaking a bone.  Osteoporotic bone fracture is likely to occur in the hip, spine or wrist.  We perform bone fracture repair surgery as early as possible with minimum invasion. Early rehabilitation is important for elderly inpatients in recovering physical function and also in lowering the risk of cognitive decline.

Medical Checkup

We offer basic health screening and optional tests to detect early stages of disease.  The standard package includes physical examination, basic blood test, urine examination, chest X-Ray and other diagnostic tests.  Optional courses are also available depending on your needs and preferences.  Brain screening with MRI is highly recommended to detect silent strokes and unrecognized brain abnormalities.  Regular medical checkups can help find problems early, when your chances for treatment and cure are better.
